The story of VoiceProEd

Maurice Goodwin, M.S., CCC-SLP and Anna Diemer, M.M. are two halves of a voice care team that came together in Houston, Texas.

We sang together…

Maurice joined Anna’s voice studio in early 2019, where he learned the benefits of continuing education in singing as a voice-specialized SLP and sang everything from tenor arias to musical theater to Spanish art song.

We put our heads together…

Since then, Maurice and Anna collaborated on patient care, each sending referrals to the other and building rapport as a voice care team.

…and now we’re coming to you!

Several conference proposals, live workshops, and a cross-country move later, Maurice and Anna created VoiceProEd to share what we learned with clinicians around the world and improve the field of singing voice care.

Anna Diemer, M.M., PAVA-RV

Anna Diemer (they/them) is a voice teacher, Singing Voice Specialist, PAVA-Recognized Vocologist, and professional soprano based in Asheville, NC. Their private studio consists primarily of avocational adult singers, many of whom came to them with complaints of vocal irregularities, tension, and fatigue. Anna was drawn to the world of voice science and SVS practice to better help these students sing with the freedom and power that they once experienced. They expanded their practice to include gender-affirming voice care in the fall of 2022, and they enjoy the opportunity to further serve the LGBTQ+ community through vocal exploration and play. When they’re not in the voice studio, Anna enjoys cooking, reading fantasy novels, and gaming on their Switch.
